Unreal Engine 3 Developer

Location: Cambridge, UK
Salary: £30k to £40k plus an extensive benefits package. We will consider higher salaries for exceptionally qualified applicants
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, flexible

Primary Role

As part of Geomerics continued growth, we are now looking to appoint an Unreal Developer who can take responsibility for innovating and implementing extensions to the existing Enlighten / Unreal 3 integration.

The successful candidate will have proven experience of modifying the Unreal 3 engine, ideally in the context of 3rd party product integration. Knowledge of modern shader-driven 3D graphics, particularly lighting, is highly desirable as is hands-on experience of developing content authoring pipelines for games. Experience of PS3 and XBox360 development is also valuable.

Skills/Abilities/Knowledge

• Hands-on development experience with Unreal 3
• Experience with game content authoring pipelines
• Experience with current-gen console development
• Good working knowledge of modern shader-driven 3D graphics and DirectX
• Knowledge of lighting, particularly radiosity
• Highly proficient in C++ development
• Ability to track issues, estimate, prioritise and balance requirements under pressure

Experience/Education

• Degree level education in a technical subject (Maths, Physics, Computer Science) or equivalent industrial experience
• 2+ years experience as a programmer in a 3D heavy application
• Experience as a programmer on at least 1 project using Unreal 3
• Successful delivery of at least one complete game
